Nip bad character early.

It’s easier to train a child than to repair an adult.

While Mark was growing up as a kid, whenever he commits an offense, he does find his way through his parents. He’ll put up a pity seeking face or cry and his parents will let him go, without discipline or corrections. His parents said he’ll outgrow those behaviours.

There was a day his teacher reproved him for not doing his assignments, his parents went to the school and gave the teacher a slap before the child. Due to his parents continuous nonchalant attitude around him, Mark became a spoilt brat (a child who behaves badly because they are allowed to do or have anything that they want)

“The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.”, Proverbs 29:15 (KJV)

Some children are like Mark while some parents are like Mark’s parents. Seeing how some children behave, you’ll ask: “who are their parents?”.

According to the scripture above, some children have been left to themselves. They are the one controlling their parents. No correction, reproof or discipline. Such a child will bring shame to the parents.

The early years of a child is the best time to shape them positively by nipping off bad character in them.

REFLECTION: If you leave your child to himself, he’ll bring you shame.
