1. YOUR LOVE MOMENTS
These are moments when you affirm to your child that you love him/her through your words. Your child needs to hear your warm voice speaking love. Many people grow up knowing they have parents, but fewer know for certain they are loved. Let your child know. Life is not a rehearsal. This is it, this is all we’ve got

2. YOUR DISCIPLINE MOMENTS
Never shy away from disciplining your child when he/she needs pruning or correction, just make sure you do it the right way your child knowing you mean well. Discipline not to punish, but to make your child a better person. When discipline is done right, your child will submit to your correction

3. YOUR PRESENCE MOMENTS
These are moments when you deliberately make time to spend with your child. Making time doesn’t mean being at home yet you are watching a TV program, chatting on WhatsApp, reading online or being off. No, it means putting away every thing and giving your child undivided attention. Make sure your child knows you are there for him/her

4. YOUR CELEBRATION MOMENTS
Cheer on your child when your child makes an achievement: learns to walk, wins an award, figures out a mathematical equation, innovates something, performs, posts something profound online. Let the child know you are his/her greatest support

5. YOUR CHILDISH MOMENTS
Sometimes go down to your child’s level. Don’t expect your child to act like the grown up you are. Make those silly sounds, know the lingo spoken by your child’s age mates, laugh, dance, don’t be afraid to act silly sometimes. This helps your child to relate with you better

6. YOUR PICK ME UP MOMENTS
There are moments your child will feel really low, will fail, will feel discouraged, will feel like his/her world is falling apart. In those moments, your child needs you around to offer a steady hand and help in navigating through it. Your advice is needed. Be there

7. YOUR SHOWING UP MOMENTS
Your child will have many activities in life: prize giving day, graduation day, a community sports game, a drama presentation. Try your best to show up in those events. It will mean alot

8. YOUR “I’M TRYING MY BEST MOMENT
This is when your child sees your effort. Like when you keep calling your child on the phone because you’re living far away from your child, you saving up money to buy your child something he/she wants so much, trying your best despite the limitations

9. YOUR DEFENDING MOMENTS
Life and even people will not always be kind to your child. Your child needs to feel safe to run to you because you protect and encourage your child to stand up for himself/herself

10. YOUR GIFT GIVING MOMENTS
These are moments when you do special things for your child: organise a birthday party for your child, buy your child gifts, organize a meeting between your child and someone he/she admires, taking your child to a dream destination

11. YOUR “I UNDERSTAND YOU” MOMENTS
Many children feel misunderstood. Your child will need you not to jump into conclusions but to take time to hear him/her out. Sometimes it is not about teaching your child a lesson or whether your child is wrong or right, but making your child feel understood and heard

12. YOUR LET’S MAKE A MEMORY MOMENTS
Take photos and videos with your child, write something with your child, do something together, build something together, do chores together, teach your child a skill, play a game

13. YOUR SPIRITUAL MOMENTS
Pray together. Sing. Praise. Read up a spiritual book. Build your child’s spirit
