Clubs are working on big deals as the start of the new Premier League season draws near

Targets: Eberechi Eze, Alexander Isak and Carlos Baleba
Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United are all still pushing hard to finalise deals before the summer deadline, which has already proven to be a record-breaking window. Eberechi Eze, fresh from winning the Community Shield, is said to have agreed a move to the Gunners, but Tottenham are now said to have launched a bid. Arsenal also face competition from Manchester City for Rodrygo, and have interest in Anthony Gordon.
United have completed a £200million makeover of their forward line, having unveiled Benjamin Sesko to fans over the weekend, and have now turned to signing Carlos Baleba despite seeing their opening bid – which included a player in part-exchange – rejected by Brighton. Gianluigi Donnarumma is another target, with the Italian goalkeeper having been told to find a new club by Paris Saint-Germain.
Chelsea are expected to sign Alejandro Garnacho, but could miss out on Xavi Simons as Man City look for a replacement for Tottenham target Savinho. Alexander Isak continues to push for a move to Liverpool amid suggestions that Yoane Wissa could be of interest at Anfield. Follow the latest transfer news, gossip and rumours live below!
Must Liverpool do more in the transfer market?
After a summer spend of almost £300million, it was not a shock that Liverpool, at times, looked electric in attack during the Community Shield on Sunday.
Hugo Ekitike needed only four minutes to score on his competitive debut, while Florian Wirtz also caught the eye.
Football, though, is played at two ends of the pitch. As thrilling as the Reds were, and will evidently be this season, up front, their title rivals will have been encouraged by what was happening behind that.
The return of Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister to the midfield will certainly help things, but a return to the transfer market also feels necessary, writes Matt Verri.
A centre-back looks to be the main need, with Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi a clear target.

Tottenham launch bid to beat Arsenal to Eze signing
Tottenham have held talks over a move for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
With James Maddison set to miss the majority of the season after suffering an a serious knee injury and Dejan Kulusevski also facing a significant spell on the sidelines, Spurs are keen on adding some more creativity to the squad.
Eze has emerged as a target and discussions have now taken place with Palace as Spurs attempt to beat Arsenal to sign the 27-year-old.
The England international has a £68million release clause which expires on Friday.

Analysis: Zubimendi can unlock Rice and solve Arsenal’s Saka problem
Viktor Gyokeres was the name on everyone’s lips before Arsenal faced Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, but afterwards it was Martin Zubimendi, writes Simon Collings.
The newly-signed Spain midfielder was the star of the show as Arsenal finished their pre-season with a 3-0 win at Emirates Stadium.
Zubimendi barely put a foot wrong all game, even coolly slotting the winning penalty in the pre-arranged penalty shootout.
It was the first time in pre-season that the 26-year-old had started in midfield alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, a combination that bodes well for Old Trafford on Sunday.
Zubimendi’s arrival should get more out of Odegaard, especially as the pair know each other from their time at Real Sociedad, but it also looks like it could unlock Rice and Saka, too.
