As a Communication Specialist I’ve been on the road, visiting places that many only read in the Newspapers, listen on Radio and watch on TV.
And when I check what is happening in “Kenya” I get people trolling the wife to a top content creator who had just delivered.
And as you walk and meet real people, you get to understand several things.
One of them is why some communities demand several cows before releasing their girls for marriage.
It all boils down to the period of motherhood.
For women, there is that period that she gives up everything in order to give life to her baby.
That period called pregnancy and the first two years of the baby involves real sacrifice.
All Animal species have a system of protection for the female .
In the communities that demand several cattle, the main motivation is to protect their daughter in case things go south. Their daughter can receive help from the “insurance” that is called dowry.
Giving birth is a very delicate thing, and it changes women. Some go through blood pressure issues and become very huge. Some go through some mental breakdown and have postpartum depression. Some get diabetes, and some get through post surgery issues..
Motherhood is not a joke, but very sacred.
So, when I saw some fellows trolling the new mother without thinking about the whole process.
It also made me understand why God MUST allow anyone desiring to be great to pass through certain painful periods…..periods of humiliation, periods of lack, periods of shame etc.
Because without the process, your success will be a disaster to everyone including yourself.
The fact that people would actually mock someone who had delivered, without understanding the changes that take place during pregnancy shows people with no experience can be very nasty.
Today, we should just take time to thank God for the sacrifice that mothers make.
Let us give glory to God to all mothers.
