5. You turn your partner off when you are quick to take selfies with celebrities and politicians and post them yet rarely take pictures with your partner. Are you not proud of the one you love?
6. You turn your spouse off when your spouse wants to play a sensual game with your body but you are busy playing games on your tablet
7. You turn your partner off when your partner wants to chat with you face to face but you are busy chatting up less important people on the phone
8. You turn your partner off when your partner dresses up sexy for you longing for your appreciation but you don’t notice because you are busy drooling over naked pics of others on your phone
9. You turn your partner off when your partner has to wait long for your response but you are quicker responding to emails
10. You turn your spouse off when your spouse is making love to you but your head is thinking about a post you read online or being uncomfortable your hair for your next selfie is being messed up or thinking of your next Facebook and Instagram post
11. You turn your spouse off when the bedroom is meant to be special and intimate but you bring your laptop to carry on with your work
12. You turn your spouse off when you wake up in bed together and instead of kissing your spouse or praying with your spouse, the first thing you think of is checking out what’s trending on Twitter
13. You turn your partner off when you use your partner to gain social media attention, posting online even the most private of moments between just you two for the world to see. Posting is OK, but not everyting and anything; some things should be left private
14. You turn your partner off when things get rocky in your relationship and instead of resolving the matter privately you rant about it on Facebook exposing your partner
Technology was meant to help us connect, not harm the most intimate of relationships. When you are with that intimate person, turn off the technology, don’t turn off the person. Smart phones and smart devices surround us but we have to be smart about how we use them
