Supporting Your Wife During Pregnancy.

Is your other half pregnant? It can take a while to work out exactly what your role is while she does the hard work of growing a human.
A pregnant woman is the most beautiful thing in the world. Her skin glows and her bump shines like a beacon that makes her the centrepiece of every room. Despite pregnant women feeling bloated and unattractive, their husbands see them as even prettier than before.

It is a man’s job to put his wife on an even higher pedestal when she is pregnant. She needs to feel more loved, secure and beautiful than ever, and it’s your job to ensure she knows just how gorgeous she really is.

Here Are some of Tips Men should know when Their Wife Is Pregnant:

Don’t React, Just Listen
When your partner is telling you what upsets her, just listen without passing judgement or giving a solution. Put your phone away, look her in the eyes and be 100% present for her. Sometimes she just needs someone that will listen.

Take Holidays Together

In the first trimester, couples should try to take a relaxing holiday. There is nothing that pregnant women love more than Vitamin D, nice food and some recuperation. Make sure to do this early in the pregnancy rather than later. It can be dangerous to fly after six months as the baby may come prematurely.

Be Patient
Pregnant women go through a lot both physically and emotionally. It’s hard for men to grasp, but their hormones can have a huge influence on their mood and behaviour. One minute they could be on top of the world and the next minute they might feel angry. Men need to be patient and understanding. Men need to remember that it is not their partner, it is the hormones talking.

Satisfy Her Cravings

Pregnant women have crazy cravings. Men should not be surprised if they are asked to make a ‘sliced pickle and salt and vinegar crisp’ sandwich. Do not question the cravings, just accept the oddest of combinations as part of pregnant life. Satisfying her cravings will make her feel loved.

Compliment Her Regularly

There is nothing more radiant than the glow of a pregnant woman. Men love pregnant women, but pregnant women don’t love themselves sometimes. Men need to remind their partner how pretty and loved she is. This should not be a one-off, but a daily occurrence. A simple compliment can help a pregnant woman to regain her confidence.

Put Your Social Life On Hold

This is one of the hardest things for any man to do. A pregnant woman needs her partner more than his mates need him in the pub. Your social life should be put on hold excluding very special occasions. Having support at home helps a pregnant woman to rest easier and stress less.

Read Lots Of Books And Blogs

There is so much information out there on pregnancy, babies and children. Gender equality has closed the gap on which parent looks after the baby. Modern men now help their partners on every step of the journey. During pregnancy men need to read as many books and blogs about pregnancy and babies as possible. The information will help the whole family understand what is going on at different stages of the baby’s life.

Go To Every Appointment

Men should try to go to every appointment when their other half is pregnant. Couples need to be there together as a team at every step of the way. No matter how insignificant the appointment may seem, it is important to celebrate every milestone as a family.

Help Her Prepare The Nursery

When a woman is pregnant she is planning her dream nursery, so get involved in the process of decorating the nursery. Men should give their input and do as much labour as possible to get the nursery ready before the baby is born.

Men of they need to treat their pregnant wife better than they have ever treated them. They need to wait on them hand and foot. No favour should be too much to ask. How a man treats his pregnant partner can be an indication of how good a father he will be. Did I miss anything? Is there anything else that men need to do for their pregnant wives?
