Dear fathers, you work hard from Monday to Friday and sometimes even on Saturdays, coming home late, barely spending time with the family you work hard for.

Whether you are a single father or a married father, set aside quality time for family over the weekend. And don’t do it once in a while as if doing your family a favour, do it frequently because family means alot to you.

Weekends shouldn’t be the time to come home late from drinking with your “boys”, but the time to spend with the boy and girl who call you father.

Instead of watching hours of football in a club with strangers who won’t be in your life five years from now, go play football with your children and discover their talents.

Instead of buying alcohol for people who are using you for your money, use that money to plan frequent family trips.

Instead of coming home in the AM. to find your children asleep feeling like you avoid them, spend at least one full day each week with the children you sired and the wife you love.

Instead of chasing unending business meetings over the weekends, learn to say no to money chasing sometimes in order to do some family building; otherwise you will have money but lose your family.

Make time to study your children and understand them, mentor them; train him to be a King, train her to be a Queen. You cannot mentor them from a distance.

You are no longer a childless bachelor, you have a family to lead. Don’t be an absent head of the family. Families rise or fall on your leadership
