The company is bigger than an individual.

What Can We Learn from PSG Winning Their First-Ever Champions League After Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe Left?

I once worked as Communication Personel for a company, The CEO a very wealthy man loved me and we had a very close relationship.

He told me something I’ll never forget.

He said,
“I don’t hire people just because they’re smart or talented.

I hire them because they are teachable and they know how to adapt.

That’s who wins in the long run.”

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) wining their first-ever UEFA Champions League title, reminded me of that my formal boss

The trophy that eluded them for years, even when they had some of the most iconic players in world football
finally arrived after those players were gone.

Let’s rewind a bit.

PSG spent years chasing this very dream.
They brought in Lionel Messi, one of the greatest players in history.
They signed Neymar Jr., a magician with the ball.
They had Kylian Mbappe, the wonder kid, the future of football.

Yet with all this star power, they still couldn’t lift the Champions League trophy. Why?

Because having great individuals is not the same as building a great team.

The truth is, the Messi-Neymar-Mbappe era felt like a show of egos and expectations. Everyone wanted the team built around them. There was pressure, politics, and a lack of cohesion. As talented as they were, they weren’t always team players.

Fast forward to today-Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe are gone.

But something else stayed: the vision.

PSG stopped building around names and started building around teamwork.

And now, they’re champions of Europe.

This is more than just a football story, it’s a life lesson.

Whether in sports, business, relationships, or personal growth:

Teams win. Egos don’t.

Even at Real Madrid now, the media buzzes about who will be the face of the team- Mbappe, Bellingham, or Vinicius.

But what they’ll need is not just superstars

-it’s team synergy.

Every successful company, every fast-rising organization, is not built on the back of one genius. It’s built on collaboration, people playing their roles, humbling themselves, and working towards a shared goal.

I have always teach this to my team, Team work first before individuals ego

So here’s my question to you:

Are you working as part of a team, collaborating and learning from those around you?
Or are you trying to be the solo superstar, chasing the spotlight?

Remember, the trophy only comes home when the team moves as one.

Congratulations to PSG. This is more than a football win – it’s a masterclass in leadership, humility, and teamwork.
