
1. Grow individually in your walk with God. Salvation is personal first
2. Have the same faith, not necessarily same denomination
3. Fellowship together. Ideally with the same Church congregation. If not, fellowship together at home
4. Pray for and with each other
5. Share testimonies. Tell each other of what good God has done in your lives
6. When the Holy Spirit places something in your spirit while you two are talking, pause and pray
7. Ask each other “Is there anything you want me to pray for?”
8. Identify each other’s spiritual gifts; is it encouragement, service, preaching, teaching, leadership?… and support each other
9. Each day pray, “Lord help us to grow in the fruit of the Holy Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control”
10. Have a theme for the year as a couple and speak into that year. For example “This is the year of come backs and step ups”
11. Don’t just talk about your family members, pray for them
12. Have a stronger prayerlife as a couple than the one you have as parents with the children
13. Worship together. Praise together
14. Send each other videos, articles and sermons
15. Have an anchor Scripture for your marriage that you hold on to as a couple
