Besides having sex, Darling what are we building?

I am struggling to find one thing we are building together.

As for other couples, the only thing they are building together is a physical house.

I pray for more than that.

Can we not just have children, let’s build them up. Let’s build in them amazing values and traits together. Let’s raise them to be the best adults this world has seen.

Let’s build a legacy together. Let’s think of the contribution we want to leave behind when we die as a couple and build it.

Let’s build a business together. Let’s establish something that will employ others and transform a community.

Let’s build the Kingdom of God together. Let’s be Kingdom financiers, let’s serve, let’s partner with God in advancing light.

Let’s build the name of our family. Let it be that when our family name is mentioned, it will be synonymous with blessings.

Let’s build other people up. Let us identify people we can elevate, mentor and invest in; not through a one off help, but walking with them.

Marriage is more than sex, quality time and romance. Darling, I want to build something with you. I want to put in the work, toil and look back with you and be proud of us. And as we build together, we will love each other deeper.

What are you building with your spouse? Or are you just two adults sleeping on the same bed year in, year out.
