There are two artificial languages that were created by the British during their illegal occupation and administration of Kenya as cruel and irrational colonial masters. These two British – made languages are the Kalenjin and Baluhya. Why? If you look carefully about the origin of these two artificial languages you will pity yourself for surrendering your original and authentic name of identity in favor of these two fake labels current in use! Why do we accept and recognize the French, Italian , Portuguese, Spanish, and Romanian languages (Romance languages) as separate and distinct languages while we refuse to identify the “Abaluhya” as a collection of distinct languages similar to the Romance ones? The so called “Kalenjin” is an amalgamation of several languages similar to the so called Romance languages. I am not sure whether you all know the origin of the meaning of this group! When the Nandi people speak with each other, they have a habit of saying “Kolei” which means in Swahili, “Nasema” or “Mbooraa ” in L’logooli language. Then an additional morpheme “njin” was added to this language group in order to coin the new fake label popularly known as the “Kalenjin.” I would like to see the so called “Abaluhya” reclassify themselves like the Romance Languages and retain their original name of identity that existed before the coming of the illegal immigrants from the UK and the USA who imposed their “worldview” on us. What is the origin of the fake name “Abaluhya?” In his book, “The Historical Dictionary of Kenya,” Dr. Were brings to our attention how this fake label was coined. The Anglican Church Deacon stationed in Maseno Brother Owen is responsible for this mess. He is the person responsible for creating this fake label about people who have distinct languages and cultures yet lumped them together as the Abaluhya. He first came up with the label “Kavirondo,” then “Avarimi,” and finally the fake “Abaluhya.” Another fake name was created about my fellow Logooli People. The word is “Maragoli.” What’s the origin of this fake label? In an attempt to write “Mlogooli,” a new label “Maragoli” was coined. My son and that of Imali’s are both fluent in L’logooli, and that’s where their fluency ends. A Nyore friend of mine initiated a conversation with my son and guess what! My son was totally unable to understand him or communicate with his as required! The Bantu people of Mt; Kenya speak languages that have not been lumped together into a single language group while they are not that different from the so called Kalenjin or Abaluhya! I will not identify myself with a l name coined by an illegal alien who had the audacity of calling me a Maragoli or Baluhya. Finally, I would like to share with you two lexical items from the English language that are in current use. The first word is “exonym.” This word basically means, what outsiders chose to call you. The Logooli people identify our western neighbors as “Avavo.” This is not what the Luos called themselves. I have completely identifying them using this name. Our “Gikuyu” brothers and sisters have been labelled by the Logooli people as “Avaseeve.” I have also deleted this exonym name and address them the way they call themselves as “Mgikuyu” and “Avagikuyu.” To address people the way they call themselves is the second word that I have to share with you: the “endonym.” I would like to see in my lifetime exonyms such as “Lake Victoria” and “Victoria Falls drop their exonyms and recover their endonyms respectively as “Lake Nyanza” and “Mosi O Tunya” (the thundering smoke).
